Bootlace Snake

What is the smallest snake in the world? Don't you know it? I'll tell you....

There is smallest snake called Bootlace Snake. It has many name, like common blindsnake, Brahminy blindsnake, and flowerpot snake. It called flowerpot snake because usually find under the flower pot.

Lets find out what this snake look like.....

It has 15 cm average long. Even rare to reach that long, mostly has under 15 cm. The color is dark like black, dark brown, or blue grey. The darker color is covering entire its dorsal, and the lighter appear in ventral. The eyes are hidden, and it just looks like small dots anyway.

Picung Snake

Fisically... this snake look likes the others. But it has something unique in its body. Its head has green color, but the neck color with red. Rhabdophis subminiatus.... that's the scientic name for this snake. In Indonesian, they called it..... Picung Snake. In general.... it named the Red-necked keelback.

The snake love wet environment such as near the river, lake, swamp, and civiliant home. It is a good swimmer in water. Look at his body! Isn't it so beautifull?

Basically, the snake don't look too dangerous. Why? because its bite doesn't kill people. But in some case, there are a serious problem to human body. Especially for certain blood type. Its poison can damage blood circulation and cause internal bleeding. So.... this snake have a dangerous snake cathagory for many country.
